Super Bowl Ad for Cannabis to Fight Pain and Seizures BANNED

Most people are aware of the impact of the ads found during the televised coverage of the Super Bowls. Vendors and advertisers scramble to compete to get their video ads on the telecast so their target audience can learn more. Well, this goes for cannabis related companies too. But, like other companies who have tried to get Super Bowl ads approved, cannabis companies struck out (wrong metaphor for football here).

Take a quick look at this rejected ad from Acreage Cannabis comment on this post. What do you think? Should Acreage Cannabis  have been allowed to televise this ad? Or, should all things cannabis, even CBD and related supplements, be banned or hidden from the public?

Sometimes, it’s just easier to let others talk about CBD

CBD Is natural not man made, don't let FDA take it over for pharma

Some of the most important benefits of cannabis oil include its ability to reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep quality, increase appetite and optimize digestion, reduce pain, prevent certain types of cancers, strengthen heart health and protect the skin.

CBD and Cannabinoids are becoming far more popular as the medical community coupled with skilled researchers are finding more plausible ways to employ cannabinoids to aid human (and animal) health. Although some uses of CBD have still been unproven as far as even cursory effectiveness - other applications of Cannabinoids have shown significant positive impact on health.

From time to time, we uncover third party information on CBD and other components of the hemp oil extracts which we will share with our readers. Please feel free to share this article in social media and in other locations (like email to your friends who don't believe that hemp has any health benefits!).

The War Against Natural Medicines mean $32,500 for CBD Oil

CBD Is natural not man made, don't let FDA take it over for pharma

Original Article: April 6, 2018 (From ANH-USA)

If we don’t change a key FDA policy, that’s how much you may be forced to pay if you want to purchase CBD oil. Action Alert!

For years, consumers have benefitted from access to cheap, safe, and effective CBD oil supplements. But now the FDA says that CBD is a drug, not a supplement—a drug which will be sold for $32,500 a year. Legally the FDA could at any time remove all CBD supplements from the market, on its own volition, or if the drug company which holds drug market exclusivity requests FDA do so. Unless we change the rules, we may see a government-sponsored monopoly on CBD oil, and in the near future, additional monopolies on other cheap, safe, and effective supplements.

This is happening because of a back-channel that allows natural supplements to be turned into drugs by the FDA. It works like this: if a company is investigating a substance as a drug, FDA rules give the company market exclusivity on that substance—even if it is currently being sold as a supplement. There are two exceptions: if the supplement was “marketed in or as a dietary supplement” before 1994, or if a supplement company has filed a “new supplement” notification with the FDA before the company’s investigation began. (Recall, too, that the FDA has not completed the policies for submitting a “new supplement” notification, so supplement companies don’t even know how to comply!) Pyridoxamine, an important form of vitamin B6 was removed from the market by the FDA through this exact same mechanism.

This means that, at any time, GW Pharmaceuticals, the manufacturer of the CBD drug, can ask the FDA to remove cheap CBD oil supplements from the market, and the only option consumers will have is their new drug that costs $32,500 a year. This hasn’t happened yet, but we think GW is simply waiting for the market for CBD oil to grow—which it is. When it reaches a tipping point, then GW can ask the FDA to remove all the CBD supplements, and wait for the cash to roll in from consumers who don’t have any other choice.

This threat to affordable CBD oil shows how broken this system is. An opioid epidemic is ravaging our country, with drug overdose deaths surpassing car accident fatalities. People are addicted to and dying from FDA-approved drugs, yet the agency is poised to eliminate consumer access to a non-addictive, cheap, safe, and effective alternative in CBD oil—all so one drug company can charge tens of thousands of dollars for what currently costs a few dollars.

The Senate Farm Bill took one step to protect CBD oil by legalizing the growth of hemp (though it remains to be seen if the final bill will contain this language), but that alone will not preserve consumer access to this important medicine. ANH-USA is crafting legislation that will, among other things, protect CBD oil and other natural substances from being turned into drugs by eliminating the market exclusivity that drug companies get when a new drug investigation is on a dietary ingredient currently being sold in the market in a dietary supplement. These rules should apply retroactively to protect CBD oil and other substances that have already (or are likely to be) removed before this legislation becomes law.

Until we close this loophole, we will see drug companies continue to turn our natural dietary supplements into drugs. News headlines are filled with Phase II or Phase III drug trials failing; Big Pharma is in search of a sure thing, and what could be better than supplements that have demonstrated health benefits? The FDA will not protect us—they’re in on it! More drugs mean more user fees—more money—for the agency, so don’t expect the FDA to defend your access to supplements.

Action Alert! Write to Congress and the FDA and tell them you support a legislative change that eliminates market exclusivity for INDs filed on substances that are currently sold in the market as dietary supplements. Please send your message immediately.

Important Steps

  1. Find your Congressional Representative. Use to quickly find out who represents you
  2. Call them and lodge your complaint or concern about the possibility of the FDA taking away natural CBD and other forms from people such as yourself.
  3. Send letters to Congress. Let them know that drug companies SHOULD NOT HAVE the ability to stop access to CBD and other Cannabinoids.
  4. Share this article with friends and others. Use Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, MeWe and others to share this important message.
  5. Use the Action Alert link here on this article. Lodge your concerns from multiple directions.

These steps need to be shared with OTHERS immediately. The more our representatives hear our voices, the more opportunity we have of protecting CBD and Cannabinoids from government control (read that as ownership of Big Pharma).

Fibromyalgia may be Related to Endocannabinoid Deficiency

On December 1, 2003, Ethan B. Russo, a Senior Medical Advisor at GW Pharmaceuticals submitted a study entitled "Clinical Endocannabinoid Deficiency (CECD): Can this Concept Explain Therapeutic Benefits of Cannabis in Migraine, Fibromyalgia, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and other Treatment-Resistant Conditions?" This study examines the concept of clinical endocannabinoid deficiency (CECD).

The study reported investigation into the prospect that endocannabinoid deficiency could underlie the pathophysiology of migraine, fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, and other functional conditions alleviated by clinical cannabis.

With consideration of the issues of migraine, fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, and other functional conditions many laypersons have already discovered the benefits of taking CBD Oil/Hemp Oil (with CBD and other cannabinoids). While it is not the purpose of this post to detail the linkage between hemp oil and the endocannabinoid system health, we do hope people educate themselves into the possibilities associated with the LEGAL uses of Industrial Hemp and its products such as CBD Oils and Tinctures as sold by stores such as the Carolina Hemp Hut and Hemp Oil Rockstar.

Since women are affected more by Fibromyalgia more than men, it's understandable that more women undertaking a CBD-enriched regimen have encountered improvements in their overall health and a reduction in symptoms associated with the Fibromyalgia. Further, it has been revealed that some of the women studies have become asymptomatic after their endocannabinoid system has been boosted with supplements of CBD and other cannabinoids.

Patients who are prescribed Lyrica, Cymbalta and Savella in addition to other related drugs may face the possibility of side effects as indicated by the FDA requirements of the Pharmaceutical companies. There are still more studies into the usage of CBD for nervous system conditions and the possible associated side effects of cannabinidiol. As of this publication, the list if adverse reactions to CBD is very short and none appear to be life-threatening as those may be for the Pharmaceutical company products.

We all have an endocannabinoid system (ECS). This system has two major types of cannabinoid receptors: CB1 receptors (primarily found in the brain) and CB2 receptors (primarily found in the immune system) are involved in a variety of physiological processes. The ECS helps regulate functions such as: sleep, immune-system responses, pain, inflammation, mood, and memory and is key in maintaining homeostasis (balance).

Cannabinoids are produced naturally within our bodies, however, when our ECS is under-active and/or you are not receiving sufficient cannabinoids, it predisposes you to a host of symptoms. For thousands of years, humans and animals consumed plants rich in cannabinoids but the eradication of all hemp related plants, by our government, has caused a deficiency of cannabinoids in our diet. Therefore, what little cannabinoids our bodies produce, may not be enough to maintain homeostasis.

Thankfully, many states have farm bills that have now allowed farmers to grow hemp plants and we are now witnessing a new era of health and wellness with the use of hemp extracts.

"Cannabinoids have similarly demonstrated the ability to block spinal, peripheral and gastrointestinal mechanisms that promote pain in headache, fibromyalgia, IBS and related disorders. The past and potential clinical utility of cannabis-based medicines in their treatment is discussed, as are further suggestions for experimental investigation of CECD via CSF examination and neuro-imaging. Migraine, fibromyalgia, IBS and related conditions display common clinical, biochemical and pathophysiological patterns that suggest an underlying clinical endocannabinoid deficiency that may be suitably treated with cannabinoid medicines."

Cannabinoids as tools to alleviate neuropathic pain

CBD and Neuropathy

Neuropathic pain is a debilitating form of chronic pain resulting from nerve injury, disease states, or toxic insults. It has been proposed by many that CBD (Cannibidiol) and it's related Cannibinoids assist in reducing the pain perceived.

Clinical studies largely affirm that neuropathic pain patients derive benefits from cannabinoid treatment.

Currently, most medications for this condition exist in the form of pain relievers; in these cases, it may be over the counter drugs such as anti-inflammatories, which can be used to relieve mild symptoms. As the level of pain relief needed was increased, so is the dosing for higher strength drugs, since as opioids.

We found others who have also reported on Neuropathy.

This information provides even more detail.

Neurons and CB1 Receptors targeted by CBD and Hemp Oil

I'm not a Doctor, but I play one on TV

Actually, I'm not even playing a Doctor. This is why we tend to provide information from doctors and researchers along with the results of studies they've published. We're more of messengers for CBD and Hemp Oil.

It's astounding how many people will take CBD and Hemp Oil to "try and see" then are able to report that one or more positive results were apparent. While these testimonials which are sent to Hemp Oil Rockstar aren't considered scientific fact, it's refreshing to know that many people perceive CBD as being useful to improve health. Even Mayo Clinic discussion boards cover benefits of Cannibidiol and Hemp Oil for things such as neuropathy and localized pain.

Hemp Day: Do you have Pain from Sciatica?

CBD/Hemp Oil: What is its Impact on Sciatica?

I'm not a doctor. I am not equipped to tell you about the mechanisms and medicine that work with our nervous system. However, I can tell you about the people I've worked with and pass along their stories. Hopefully we will be able to further define cures for many of the problems which plague us.

A variety of lower back problems can lead to pain that radiates along the sciatic nerve. Most often, sciatica pain is caused when the L5 or S1 nerve root in the lower spine is irritated by a herniated disc.

My friend, Cindy, who plays tennis avidly, commented to me about her back pain and sciatica. I did a lot of homework on the issue and found a wealth of good information for her. I passed along links and references found (look up your own by searching in Google for "sciatica and cbd"). I was happy to provide these references to her. I hoped she would find benefit. I wasn't going to force any product on her - she needed to make an INFORMED decision. This turned out to be exactly as she needed. Listen to the story and use it to help guide your own discovery: Will CBD work for your particular body aches and pains?

I'd love to hear from my readers and viewers. What is going on with your pain? What are you doing to address it?

Your Pets with CBD – Helping Humans

We offer Hemp Oil Extract formulas for pets, dogs and cats will appreciate the CBD doses available in tasty treats

If Drug Companies have their way, you can expect a BUNCH of cures for what ails your pets. Also, expect it to be expensive.

Some of the cures are coming in the form of cannabis drugs. You may have read my earlier post on CBD and your pets. It's a proven fact that CBD has been useful for treating many conditions with Fido and Fluffy. Since the placebo effect isn't factored with your pets, improvement in their respective health situations shows us the favorable use of CBD for pets.

Do you have a pet? Has your pet shown signs of ill health? Arthritis, seizures, and other conditions, as with humans, have afflicted dogs, cats and other animals. The cures from our pharmaceutical companies have helped many of our pets. Further research and testing with CBD and other cannabinoids has shown even more promise for pet cures. But at what cost to consumers?

Pharmaceutical companies are likely to package something natural, such as CBD oil extract (a simple cannabinoid extract from the Hemp plant) along with other (proprietary) chemicals to make a more marketable product. Often, the added chemicals to the CBD are unnecessary for the drug to be effective. But the added chemicals make the drug suitable for patent protection - and added revenue for the drug companies. If you "juice" a natural product, you can charge more for it.

It's great that the discoveries of cures for pets have been leading to helping people. Let's be sure that the natural products remain available for pets and people alike.

I'd love for you to
