President Trump Gives Nod to Legalization

President Donald Trump May allow for State Legalization with limits on Federal obstacles

President Donald Trump's Stance

In several speeches, President Donald Trump has indicated that State's rights would trump any Federal stance on Marijuana. This coincides with Sen. Mitch McConnell's direction to make CBD, as a constituent of the Hemp Industry, less regulated at the Federal level. We don't know for sure what the ultimate direction will be, but all things currently point to significant easing of regulations across the board.

Currently, North Carolina and other States have implemented pilot programs for legal growing of Hemp Plants (Industrial Hemp in NC) which can be used for manufacturing as well as for the production of CBD and related extracts. These extracts from the industrial hemp production have been proven useful in helping people heal faster and reduce or even eliminate many conditions. For more information on the health aspects of Industrial Hemp and the extracted CBD and other components, visit your favorite search engine (such as Google.com) and type "CBD" along with the condition you would like to research. For example, "CBD and Arthritis" is a useful search if you have arthritis. Another example is "CBD and anxiety" for those who suffer from some form of anxiety and currently need drugs such as Xanax or similar.

We will keep our readers updated as news becomes available.

We’re Growing!

Hemp Oil Rockstar grows to add New location at Streets of Southpoint Mall

The First CBD Oriented Kiosk will open in North Carolina at the Streets of Southpoint Mall

Southpoint Mall, Durham, NC  A shop known as The Carolina Hemp Hut that specializes in one of the active components in cannabis, but not the one that gets you high, will open at The Streets at Southpoint Mall as a Kiosk. The Hemp Oil Rockstar, also known as Mary Lòpez Carter, a local Realtor®, will open a kiosk near the Nordstrom’s and JC Penney stores at the mall. The shop's grand opening will be held Saturday, October 27.

Cannabidiol, or CBD as it is often shortened, is a chemical compound derived from the cannabis plant often produced by licensed Industrial Hemp growers and processors. The oil from the extract, also known as hemp oil, does not produce a psychoactive high like marijuana does. The active ingredient in marijuana is tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC. The legal limit of THC in any NC CBD store item is a maximum of .3% total THC.

Holistic health advocates claim there are many health benefits of using CBD. Such benefits may include abatement of some pain, reduction of inflammation, improved sleep plus anxiety relief among other claimed benefits. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has not evaluated any of the claims of the benefits of using CBD.

Carter is a practicing Realtor® in the Triangle area and the co-owner of a regional Marketing company, Ideas Envy LLC.

The Grand Opening will feature specials on CBD Gummies and other edibles for adults. In addition, all customers will receive discount cards for future purchases.

Ms. Carter has long advocated for acceptance of CBD as an alternative to conventional drugs since her husband, David, was diagnosed with a recurring brain tumor. “CBD has been shown in scientific and medical journals as effective against many types of cancer and adverse health conditions. I’m glad the US Farm Bill allowed for further acceptance of Hemp and its non-psychoactive products.”

Hemp Day Video: The Three (3) Key Questions you need to Ask Your Hemp Oil Extract Retailer

What do You know about Your Hemp Oil?

Mary Carter, Hemp Oil consultant, covers three key questions that you should ask before buying your CBD/Hemp Oil from any retailer. These three simple questions will help you become more aware of the quality available in Hemp Oil. Mary's learned that these three questions will assist any buyer of Hemp Oil to be better aware of the product and not as easily fall for bad product sales.

Mary Carter presents the 3 Key Questions You should Ask

If you're not able to see the video, you may try viewing it here on Hemp Oil Rockstar's Facebook page.

Choosing The Best Hemp Oil

I've often told the story about how I selected the best hemp oil extract for my retail stores. There truly are a lot of hemp oils available on the market. Some are horrible and really a waste of money and others are super-premium all around.

The three questions I used within the Hemp Day video are just three of the many questions and qualifiers that I followed when it came to deciding on the best product mix. I'll likely make a full video of the process I followed. In the interim, be sure to check out all of my Hemp Day Videos and come in to the Streets at Southpoint Mall and visit with us at our Store Kiosk, "The Carolina Hemp Hut".

Beware of Trial Offers in CBD

Break free of CBD Trial issues

My Story About Star CBD

I'm writing this article (and filmed the accompanying video) based upon real-life experiences. The best stories are grounded in reality. Right?

If you've heard any of Mary Carter's (Mary Carter is my wife and she's the founder of Hemp Oil Rockstar and The Carolina Hemp Hut), then you may know that the primary reason she dove into the CBD world is because she was worried that my cancer would return. A little less than two years ago, Mary got me going with CBD Oil from a vendor recommended by an acquaintance. This new oil was very expensive (about $130 for less than a month's usage).

I was filling in time while watching a show with my wife. My iPad was in my lap and I was cruising the web in search of CBD for cheap. I found site that had all of the requisite language and pretty pictures. Star Trial CBD was calling me. It was late in the evening and to my benefit, I wasn't supposed to be buying anything. I didn't have my reading glasses on. I shouldn't have even considered looking at the ad for this CBD oil.

But, I did.

David Carter covers a big scammer, Star CBD

The Real Deal with CBD Trial Offers

The CBD Oil which you can buy from Hemp Oil Rockstar, Charlotte's Web and others is going to come from reputable farms, reputable refiners and from reputable retailers. SOME of the CBD that comes from some shops, however, leaves a lot to be desired.

Some retailers have been buying CBD oil in concentrate (from isolate or from spectrum). They take this relatively strong isolate and blend the CBD oil with various calculated amounts of things like MCT (think, cleaned up coconut oil), sunflower seed oil or another carrier oil. This process is actually normal. Again, the reputable vendors will make sure that their oil sold matches the strength and the content (you'd be surprised that the shady providers will often "water down" their oils to considerably less than the stated strength).

The Star brand of CBD Oil is from an isolate. It's also very weak (100 mg of CBD only). This means it's packaged with carrier oils. Thus, the 1 oz bottle that they package this oil within is really a 1 oz bottle of carrier oil with a drop or few of concentrated CBD Oil isolate. Gimmicky advertising and names like "Hemp Pure" or "Pure CBD" are therefore a bit misleading. It's not pure CBD Oil.

The Trial Offer programs will sign you up to a "buying club" of sorts with your trial offer. The prices of the various scamming offers on the web do vary, but they're typically around $5.00 a bottle.

Along comes the Spider

"Wow, CBD Oil for only $4.95?!" Yes, you can bet I was excited. With my addled view (recall that I didn't have my reading glasses on - so, screw the fine print) I could clearly see I get a bottle of CBD oil in a free bottle to try out. Well, I needed CBD oil - so SIGN ME UP!

Big mistake.

Star CBD is sold as a Trial Basis and Rips people off

When Free Isn't Free

I actually received the product that they had specified. However, it wasn't in a fancy cardboard box like it was in the photos on the web site. I didn't get crazy of this though. The product was the 100mg bottle of CBD oil. Just the bottle. I slid the bottle back into it's padded envelope and tossed it aside - I had lots of work to do and the bottle was not a priority.

A couple of weeks later, as I finally had some spare time, I opened the package again and read the bottle of CBD oil. It dawned on me that it was only 100 mg when I bought it. But, I figured that $5 was worth it. The $5 wasn't all though.

My credit card statement revealed that I was charged for the shipping and handling fee of $4.95. I also was charged a few days later for a "membership fee". Uh, what?

To add insult to injury, I receive a second bottle of 100mg oil and a shocking charge of nearly $100 on my Credit Card statement. This drove me to action. I ended up taking care of the transaction and canceling everything with the "staff" at this company (it was Star brand, but the call center sounds like a sweatshop filled with people taking complaint calls). The mail order company had a clever trial gimmick which captured people within a "club" which has a monthly fee and the product cost which was exorbitant.

I learned from this experience. Now I carefully read the terms and conditions of all "memberships" and order fine print. I grab my reading glasses when I see something that's "too good to be true." Since it's often too good to be true, I am safer being more of a stickler to the details.

If you'd like a list of Scam centered Trial Basis companies, let me know in the comments and I will get the list emailed to you. I keep making additions to the list - this way more people are aware.

Hemp Happy People: More Love for Hemp Oil Rockstar

Customers speak up about the help of Hemp Oil Rockstar

In early August, one customer, Lynne, provided to us this amazing review:

So, here's my story.

In 2016, due to an accidental fall, I suffered a concussion and whiplash that ended up with me needing brain surgery in Oct 2017. I came thru it ok, but have dealt with neck pain and soreness on a daily basis. I had PT and do stretches daily, but it was still painful to turn or bend my neck in all directions. I used an RX topical cream plus a couple of OTC creams. They helped to a degree, but the RX wasn't covered by insurance and was expensive.

I am also a caregiver to my hubby which is a very stressful situation, especially, on top of my own physical issues. A friend suggested I try CBD oil as it was helping her. She also recommended her distributor/retailer, Mary Carter, who is very knowledgeable about the different products. I tried the oil first, mainly for my stress. Most recently, I talked with Mary about my neck pain. That's when I found out her hubby had also had brain surgery. They both suggested I try CBD Salve. I really was full of skepticism and figured any pain improvement would be a "placebo effect". After using it several days, I was waking up with NO pain and was able to also turn my neck with no pain. It was an eye opener for me and I have become a total believer. I plan to continue with the salve as needed along with the oil to help with my stress and sleep. I highly recommend CBD.

US Farm Bill allows for Broader legalization of Hemp and products

What the Bill Reveals

In the Agricultural Act of 2014 (“Farm Bill”) regarding industrial hemp, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and other organizations were given the "green light" to go ahead with pilot programs to allow for hemp to be sold. This led to the adoption by many States of pilot programs to permit growing of the hemp plants in their jurisdictions. This is what provides the lion's share of legal status for hemp and hemp products (such as CBD).

The term “industrial hemp” includes the plant Cannabis sativa L. and any part or derivative of such plant, including seeds of such plant, whether growing or not, that is used exclusively for industrial purposes (fiber and seed) with a tetrahydrocannabinols concentration of not more than 0.3 percent on a dry weight basis. The term “tetrahydrocannabinols” includes all isomers, acids, salts, and salts of isomers of tetrahydrocannabinols.

Every five years, Congress passes legislation that sets national agriculture, nutrition, conservation, and forestry policy, commonly referred to as the “Farm Bill”. In this year's version, many amendments (as will happen with our Congress) were added. The one with the real teeth was Mitch McConnell's amendment. This one more openly allows for Hemp legalization (far more than allowed under the 2014 Farm Bill). Although the final passage of this bill has not hit the goal line with the House's version, many are hopeful that it will so it can be signed quickly into law by President Donald Trump.

Hemp Day Video: Drug Testing and CBD Oil from Hemp

Don't let legal problems come from false positive on CBD and THC urine test

Passing a Drug Test is a worry? What will a Urine Test reveal?

Are you worried about whether you will pass a Drug Test after taking Hemp Oil with CBD? Have you heard about the horror stories of people getting penalized because they're not smoking pot but taking Hemp Oil for aches, pains or some other condition of discomfort - and they're worried about the drug test at work? There are a 6 points you need to know about this worry.

I'll help you understand where the pitfalls are and what you can do to avoid trouble from this "simple misunderstanding" - Don't be penalized for doing something that is NOT ILLEGAL.

Don’t let Your CBD healthy and Legal Habit get you into Legal Trouble

A urinary test procedure for identification of cannabidiol in patients undergoing medical therapy with marijuana

Marijuana is classified by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) as Schedule I, drugs having no accepted medical value. Twenty-three states and the District of Columbia have legalized medical marijuana. This conflict inhibits physicians from prescribing marijuana and the systematic study of marijuana in medical care. This study concerns the use of the clinical laboratory as a resource for physicians recommending cannabidiol (CBD) to patients, or for patients using medical marijuana. Marijuana containing delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is psychoactive.

However, CBD is not psychoactive. CBD is reported to have medical benefit for seizure control, neurologic disorders including multiple sclerosis, neuropathic pain and pain associated with cancer.

It was revealed that the studies DID SHOW that CBD with trace THC can caused positives even though the user is taking CBD legally and the THC within that Hemp Oil is well within the legal limits of .3%. This information may be rendered moot should President Donald Trump sign into law a passed Farm Bill (2018) which includes the intact amendment from Mitch McConnell (R-Ky). More on this topic will be reported by the team at Hemp Oil Rockstar.

For more information on the government report covering the outcomes of the testing, visit here.

Hemp Day: Do you have Pain from Sciatica?

CBD/Hemp Oil: What is its Impact on Sciatica?

I'm not a doctor. I am not equipped to tell you about the mechanisms and medicine that work with our nervous system. However, I can tell you about the people I've worked with and pass along their stories. Hopefully we will be able to further define cures for many of the problems which plague us.

A variety of lower back problems can lead to pain that radiates along the sciatic nerve. Most often, sciatica pain is caused when the L5 or S1 nerve root in the lower spine is irritated by a herniated disc.

My friend, Cindy, who plays tennis avidly, commented to me about her back pain and sciatica. I did a lot of homework on the issue and found a wealth of good information for her. I passed along links and references found (look up your own by searching in Google for "sciatica and cbd"). I was happy to provide these references to her. I hoped she would find benefit. I wasn't going to force any product on her - she needed to make an INFORMED decision. This turned out to be exactly as she needed. Listen to the story and use it to help guide your own discovery: Will CBD work for your particular body aches and pains?

I'd love to hear from my readers and viewers. What is going on with your pain? What are you doing to address it?
